Indonesian Sailing Vessel

Last Tuesday, during an official ceremony held in Vigo, the Indonesian Army took delivery of its new training ship. The “Bima Suci” was delivered at the presence of the Indonesian Army’s main rank and will start the maiden voyage in a few days. During her maiden voyage, the ship will call several ports in Mediterranean and sea and eventually arrive at home port in Indonesia on October 24th.

The training vessel, built by Galician shipyard Freire, is one of the biggest ship in the world for its type and features 110 m of length 12 m breath and 6 m draught. The ship can be powered by 3300 square meter of sails and can accommodate more than 200 persons, most of them are cadets.

Novenco supplied full HVAC and refrigeration system, which consists of two 500 kW chillers, 3 Air handlers and more than 90 cabin units. The system was designed to cope with though summer tropical conditions and is equipped with energy saving features such as: two speed fan for galleys and VAV system for public areas. The biggest challenge of this project was to fit the ducts for 200 persons in the very narrow ceiling space.

Project execution was done from Novenco Marine & Offshore Trieste office. The experienced team provided full support throughout the project from early design up to final commissioning of the HVAC System.

Novenco Marine & Offshore is proud of this project and congratulates Indonesian Navy for taking delivery of this charming vessel.
